- This module introduces participants to functional nutrition concepts as they relate to supporting optimal immune system function
- Participants will understand the importance of building resilience and reducing risk of impaired immunity
- Participants will learn about food sources containing immune-supporting nutrients and how to build balanced meals and snacks that incorporate them
- Participants will observe the facilitator preparing recipe[s] featuring foods that support optimal immune function
Nutrition for Optimal Health
- This module introduces participants to nutrition concepts as they relate to the Five Pillars of Health (Protect, Repair, Normalize, Boost, and Control).
- Participants will learn about foods in each pillar and their importance in achieving optimal health.
- Participants will learn about compounds present in whole foods that support pillars in protecting DNA, repairing cells, normalizing hormones and blood sugar levels, boosting immunity, and controlling infl¬ammation.
Mindful Eating
- This module introduces participants to the principles of mindful eating
- Participants will learn about the differences between mindful and mindless eating and will be able to identify behaviors that support mindful eating
- Participants will learn to acknowledge hunger and fullness cues
Virtual Grocery Tour
- This module introduces participants to nutrition and culinary concepts as they relate to navigating grocery store zones
- Participants will learn how to navigate the grocery store comparing nutrition information while considering budget as well
- Participants will learn common food product marketing claims and how to interpret them
- Participants will also learn how to create a shopping list and prepare nutrient-rich recipes
Transitioning to a Plant Focused Diet
- This module introduces participants to nutrition concepts as they relate to following a plant focused diet.
- Participants will learn about the disease fighting benefits of plant foods and understand the impact that consuming a plant-focused diet has on health.
- Participants will learn about a variety of plant foods that encourage proper macronutrient composition and create a balanced, plant-focused diet.
- Additionally, they will create strategies for including more plant foods in their diets
